Microsoft Opens Beta Channel for Windows 10 Insiders

At the end of last year, Microsoft announced changes to its Windows 10 strategy, promising to add new features and improvements as needed. To actively develop innovations, the company has reopened the Beta channel for Windows Insiders, allowing them to test upcoming features before they are released to all users.
Windows Insiders who want to be among the first to experience new features can join the Beta channel by following these steps:
1. Open the “Settings” menu and navigate to “Updates and Security”.
2. Click on “Windows Pre-Evaluation Program”.
3. Select the update channel you wish to join (Beta in this case).
4. Verify your device is eligible for the Beta program.
5. Click “Yes” to confirm your participation.
Once you’re in the Beta channel, you’ll have access to the latest Windows Insider builds and can provide valuable feedback to help Microsoft improve future versions of Windows.

If your PC meets the minimum system requirements for Windows 11:
The system will not automatically upgrade to Windows 11 when you join the Beta channel. Instead, the new operating system will be available as an optional update, which means that you can choose to upgrade when you’re ready.
You will still be able to switch to the Dev and Canary channels, but there will be no automatic upgrade to the newest version of Windows 11 in these channels. If you do switch to one of these channels, you will have some time to return to Windows 10 before the only option will be to reinstall Windows completely.
If your PC doesn’t meet the minimum requirements for Windows 11, you won’t be able to join the Dev or Canary channels as they are designed for Windows 11 only. The end date for support for Windows 10 remains the same – October 14th, 2025, and joining the Beta channel doesn’t extend this support period. Many of the innovations in the Beta channel will be rolled out using Controlled Feature Rollout (CFR) technology, which means that some users will see the changes before others. Microsoft will gather feedback before making the changes available to all users.
Please note that the features and changes tested on the Beta channel may not be included in the final version of Windows 10, and over time, some functions may be changed, deleted, or replaced. Any changes that are ready for release will be included in an upcoming cumulative update for Windows 10.
If you want to be among the first to try out new features, you can turn on the “Get the latest updates as soon as they’re available” setting in the Windows Update settings. This will activate more features over time. If you disable this option, innovations will be gradually rolled out to your device as they become available. Please be advised that after switching to the beta channel, you will no longer receive updates for Windows 10. In the coming weeks, a new build for testing purposes will be released.
