To work with AI Explorer in Windows 11, you will need the ARM64 platform and 16 GB of RAM

Now, regarding the requirements for the operation of the yet-to-be-announced AI Explorer feature in Windows 11, this information was extracted from the code for build 26100, which is presumably the RTM (Release to Manufacturing) version of Windows 11 24H2.
Apparently, the AI Explorer feature will only function on new devices equipped with the Snapdragon X Elite processor. This is because the requirements specify an ARM64-based platform and an NPU (Neural Processing Unit) to accelerate machine learning tasks. Also, the feature will require at least 16GB of RAM and a 225KB or larger system disk (the total capacity is taken into consideration, not just free space).

Microsoft may be considering making the AI Explorer feature exclusive to the ARM64 platform in order to boost the appeal of devices based on Snapdragon X Elite that will be released in the coming months.
At this time, we don’t know for sure about the true capabilities of AI Explorer. According to Windows Central, the feature is internally described as an “enhanced version of Copilot” that remembers everything you do on your computer and lets you find the information you need by searching using natural language.
AI Explorer will have a timeline interface where you can see what activities have taken place on your computer in the last few days. The results can be filtered, and artificial intelligence will organize and document all the information displayed on the screen, such as applications, texts, websites, documents, images, videos, and more. AI Explorer will also analyze the information and suggest actions.
